The story
A custom website I designed and developed for a music group, and kept growing for a year: their discography, a blog that writes itself, a chatbot with the voice of one of their characters, a podcast page. The design and the code are mine, end to end.

Acid Glass
The group makes chaotic, self-ironic music full of inside jokes, so a clean corporate site would have been a lie. I built a design system around one idea: the site is the group. It has three laws.
Nothing is perfectly straight: every card and every sticker sits at a small tilt, and straightens when you hover it. The glass is dirty: frosted panels tinted with acid colours, dashed borders and hard shadows, never the neutral glass of a dashboard. And the copy is part of the interface: loading, errors and empty pages speak in the group's voice, in lower case, never in technical terms. Even a wrong link gets that voice: instead of a generic 404, a language model writes a whole page about the address you typed, and it is saved, so that address always gets the same page.

A blog that writes itself
The blog is written by one of the group's characters, an AI with a very bad attitude, and it publishes one article a day without anyone touching it. When the topic is music, the article is about a real release: the discography comes from the database, which is kept in sync with Spotify. Readers can comment and like comments under every article.
- 1
Once a day
A scheduled call wakes the generator. If an article already went out today, it stops there, so a retry never publishes twice.
- 2
A topic
It picks one of 13 topics. If the topic is the music, it reads every real release, with its year, type and where to stream it, and has to review one of them.
- 3
The article
A language model writes it in the character's voice, following a set of rules on tone, length and what it must never say.
- 4
Published
The first line becomes the title, the opening becomes the excerpt, and the article goes live with its own comments.
Chatting with a character
The same character also answers on the site, in a chat of its own. Replies are streamed word by word as the model writes them, in the voice set by its prompt, and the chat page wears that character's colour.
